Team Chicago Academy-Botafogo remained undefeated after 2 days of play at the Disney Showcase at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, FL.

The team opened with a 1-1 tie against the reigning Pennsylvania State Champions Penn Fusion on a last-minute equalizer from Kaela Leskovar off Zoey Goralski. Playing in only the 3rd 11v11 game in 2 months the team looked a little rusty, but still managed to dominate possession and chances created.

This morning Botafogo rung in the new year with an impressive 4-1 over Lake Norman SC from North Carolina. Zoey Goralski scored 2 goals, and Gianna Dal Pozzo and Jenna Romano added 1 each. Hope D’Addario had 3 assists, and Jenna Romano and Brooke Ksiazek each chipped in with 1.

With a win tomorrow morning Botafogo will advance to the Monday’s final.

Team Chicago Academy-Botafogo had to battle snow, and the Cincinnati Cup, to secure a 2-0 win on the 2nd day of the CASL Raleigh College Showcase. The win came after a 3-1 win on the opening day v. FC North United from Pittsburgh, PA.

Under extremely difficult weather conditions, Botafogo dominated most of the proceedings. Dana Miller bagged her 2nd brace in two games with a goal on either side of the interval. The first goal came off a perfect header off a Hope D’Addario cross, and the second off a great pass slotted through the defense by Gianna Dal Pozzo.

Kiley Dunning had to make one spectacular save to earn the shutout.

Team Chicago Academy-Botafogo got off to a great start at the CASL Raleigh Showcase earlier today by defeating FC North United from Pittsburgh 3-1.

Botafogo went up 1-0 inside 5 minutes when Molly Piech played a good ball in behind the defense for Zoey Goralski to run onto. Zoey attacked the end-line a played a perfect ball across the top of the 6 for Dani Pitaro to score.

North United came right back and tied it up a couple of minutes later, but after 15 minutes Dana Miller got what proved to be the game-winner. Hope D’Addario played a cross to Molly Piech who laid it off for Dana Miller to finish far post on the ground.

With 5 minutes left in the 2nd half Darby Moran found a streaking Zoey Goralski who once again attacked the end-line and played a perfect ball across the top of the 6, and this time it was Dana Miller bagging her 2nd goal of the game.
